Southside Jewelry offers appraisals for insurance, and our customers’ peace of mind. A written statement of the authenticity, design, quality and value of the specific piece of jewelry being appraised from us helps when selling or insuring your piece, and lets you know the value of your items.
A detailed, accurate appraisal is needed to protect your interest, and serves as proof of ownership should any of your jewelry become lost or stolen.
Jewelry appraised at Southside Jewelry is appraised to comply with the requirements of insurance companies. Your appraisal will validate, value, condition, and ownership.
NOTE: With this appraisal, you will be able to avoid an insurance company’s minimum coverage clause as it pertains to unscheduled jewelry that may be lost or stolen.
A Southside Jewelry Appraisal will describe:
- The Setting: Purity or Karat, gram weight, method of manufacture, style, and any engravings.
- The Major Stone: Shape, size, carat weight, variety, and origin (natural or man made)
- Minor Stones: Including shape, size, weight, color, clarity, and condition.
- Total Gem Weight: A total gem weight of all stones will be identified.
The appraisal will provide enough information to replace the item with one of a like size, quality and value in the event of a loss, damage and/or theft. The professionals at Southside Jewelry will also clean, polish, and buff your jewelry, after completing an inspection for worn prongs, faulty clasps, or any other potential problems.
We urge our customers to take advantage of our free six month inspections to ensure the long life and beauty of your jewelry.
